I’ve been thinking about all the gun grabber antics and such as of late.  Currently there is a very critical debate going on in the Supreme Court McDonald v. Chicago which essentially is going to determine if the Heller v. D.C. decision making the second amendment apply to the federal government via the fourteenth amendment, apply to states and cities.

I was reading the news today and there are two stories related to “guns”.  I use the parenthesis because one is a total crock of crap.

  • The first story is about a 17 year old that was screwing around twirling a gun on his finger like Wyatt Earp.  Well the moron ended up shooting his friend.  The key thing is he violated his probation because he was previously convicted of a non-mentioned crime.

The key thing about the above story is that the person using the firearm was using it inappropriately.  All people who receive any firearms training within the first HOUR learn to treat all firearms as if they are loaded, and keep them oriented in a safe direction.

Additionally this person wasn’t supposed to be in possession of a firearm in the first place.  Obviously the gun laws in Florida are failing at keeping firearms out of convicts reach.  Therefore more laws would be asinine because they can’t even enforce the ones already on the books.

  • The second story is about a school in Michigan which suspended a 6 year old student for making a “gun shape” with his hands.  The alleged it was disturbing the other students and being disruptive.  Evidently he was playing cops and robbers with his friends at recess.

This is completely ridiculous!  We can’t even let kids play anymore because people seem to think that his hand will magically transform into a real gun loaded with “cop killer” bullets and he’ll start spraying away at his 6 year old friends.  Or how about not.  It’s called being a child.  Why don’t we tell him Santa Clause isn’t real, the easter bunny is a crock, and the tooth fairy is really mom?

I don’t know why everyone is so paranoid about firearms.  I have spent every day of the last 8 months with one either on my person or right next to me.  The rifle has never gone off unless i pulled the trigger, never killed anyone by accident, and never “agitated any kids”.
